In just 7 days Bill and I leave for Europe! We are traveling to Slovenia for the First International Advanced Chen Taijiquan Training Camp, taught by Grandmaster Chen Xiaoxing and his son Master Chen Ziqiang. In attendance will be advanced students from all over the world, and the curriculum will include xinjia yilu and weapons. We will be staying at an Olympic training camp in Planica, in the mountains above Ljubljana. Traveling with Bill and myself will be Grace Bearis, Tanya Wallace, George and Chris McCandless, and Travis DePuy. We’ll meet Kim Ivy there with her students, and reunite with many people we’ve met before in China and the Czech Republic doing taiji related activities. I’ll be blogging this trip – including the few days we will spend in Vienna, Austria as tourists before heading to Slovenia. Check back here for my blogs! Classes will go on while we’re gone, so if you are a student, be sure to continue to attend to support our excellent group of teachers who hold down the fort while we are gone!
On another note, the fall is shaping up to be quite special! Not only is it our teacher Grandmaster Chen Xiaowang’s 70th birthday, but he is returning to the US for a brief west coast tour for the first time in 4 years! He’ll be in San Diego on October 25th for a weekend seminar – don’t miss this opportunity to see the Best of the Best once again!
Ken Cohen is returning to San Diego in November and will offer his winter seminar series again. Stay tuned for topics and dates. Jan Silberstorff will also return to San Diego in January to offer a seminar on Chen style taijiquan.
See you in class!
